The consequences of restrictive diets and inaccurate food labels

In this episode of the Fear of Eating series, professors from the nutrition course at the School of Applied Sciences (FCA) at Unicamp talk about situations that interfere with the search for a healthy diet and that encourage fear of eating, including the adoption of restrictive diets. Research shows that, in more than 80 percent of cases, those who opt for this type of diet gain weight again. Another factor is the wide variety of processed foods and the information on the labels of these products. According to the course coordinator, professor Diogo Thimoteo da Cunha, in many cases the labels raise doubts, which generates insecurity when choosing foods.
