The Institute of Geosciences (IG) hosts, 13 to 15 for August, the “3rd Brazilian Symposium on Taphonomy”. The official opening will take place at 9 am in the unit’s auditorium.

Taphonomy, an essential part of the studies carried out by paleontologists, helps to understand how fossils are formed, that is, how organisms enter the sedimentary record and what transformations they undergo in their constitution when experiencing the same diagenetic processes as the sediments that surround them, such as: compression, dissolution, cementation, etc., until the moment of their collection.

The symposium is aimed at geologists, biologists, geographers and those interested in paleontology.

To participate, sign up at the link https://eventos.galoa.com.br/iii-sbt-2025/registration/intro.

The IG auditorium is located at Rua Carlos Gomes, 250, on the Unicamp campus, in Barão Geraldo, Campinas (SP).
